I have been on a sweet melon roll since I posted my Tropical Sweet Melon Cocopineapple smoothie. It really was a great smoothie. I still had half of the Sweet melon I used for the tropical smoothie so I decided to do something for myself before hitting the road and joining the rush hour.
I blended the Sweet Melon with coconuts and Ginger. It got chilled before I left the house and it was a great on-the-go food.
There are many ways that you can play with the Sweet Melon. It is very affordable and you can get them in small quantities unlike the water melon. A friend went towards the Mile 12 Market area recently and talked about how large mounts of sweet melon are lying around wasted already before its season has even fully started. The fruits are delicate and can be damaged easily.
Another thing about Sweet Melon’s delicate nature is that other flavors can easily overpower it so if you really want the Sweet melon experience, you can just eat it alone or you add little portions of other fruits and nuts so that the Sweet Melon can have some ‘integrity’.
As you go about, think about your fruits and veggies and don’t forget to eat fruits in season like the sweet melon.
